My art is the result of equal parts technique and mystery. Ceramics has been an ongoing creative focus for twenty years. All pieces are original in design and execution. They are slabbed and handbuilt, impressed and textured. I draw from a collection of found objects with which to embellish the surface of the claybody. Meticulous brush glazing helps emphasize color separation and flow. Raku has remained my primary choice of firing. The fiery immediacy of this experience appeals to me. I also cone 5 and 6 fire. The higher temperature adds structural strength and an expanded range of glaze, stain and glass effects.
